Marta is a small fishing village on the shores of Lake Bolsena. Of medieval origin, it has characteristic alleys, stairways and suggestive corners, dominated by the mighty octagonal clock tower, built on a truncated pyramidal base, and by the remains of the fortress that Pope Urban IV built here around 1260 a.d.. One of the most suggestive events taking place in Marta is the Feast of the Barabbata, which is celebrated every year on May 14th.
