Bolsena

Located about 30 km north-west from Viterbo, Bolsena has more than 4000 inhabitants. It has a medieval layout and sits on the eastern banks of the large lake, right on the slopes of the Volsini mountains. The eponymous village lives in perfect symbiosis with its lake, famous for its crystal clear waters and for its record as the largest volcanic lake in Europe.
